Pre-Purchase Termite Inspections

At Berwick Pest Control we are highly trained in carrying out Termite Inspections (visual inspections) , combining this skill with the latest technology in termite detection.

Moisture meters are also used by our technicians in order to;

Detect high moisture readings in stud walls.

Detect possible plumbing leaks.

Timber sounding tools or “Dongers” are used to;

Determine timber density.

Detect hollowing of timber indicating possible termite damage.

Australian standards recommend Dongers for Termite Inspections.

Don’t be alarmed when we walk in with a screwdriver or pocket knife, they are used to check for blistering of timbers in which active termites may be foraging. Our technicians also carry maglite torches, which are high powered torches and approved according to Australian Standards for termite inspections.

Pre purchase inspections…

The Australian standards recommend inspections every 6 to 12 months.

Regular inspections are the most important part of controlling termites before they do any damage. Therefore:

Arrange regular inspections at least once a year in cooler areas and twice a year in warmer areas.

Keep the edges of the house (slabs, foundation, piers and stumps) clear of clutter, including garden beds. and vegetation

Professional pest controllers are trained in inspecting houses for termite activity.
